Clariant has successfully established its position in the Surabaya industrial area of JIIPE as a company engaged in many chemical-based industries, such as in the plastics, coatings, oil and gas, home & personal care, catalyst, and editable oil refinery sectors. At present, Indonesia is one of Clariant's most competitive production bases.
With more than 1150 employees in the Surabaya industrial area of JIIPE, Clariant has ten business facilities, including six production facilities.

East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial area in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for cruise ships and housing with an environmentally friendly industrial area, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as golf courses and shopping centers within the industrial estate.
