Ogled by Foreign Investors, the Formation of KEK in Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE is Accelerated

Following the submission of the establishment of the Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE in 2019 which had not yet been approved by the government, several parties involved decided to hold a coordination meeting to accelerate the establishment of Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE as a KEK.

The parties involved in the effort included Chief of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, Managing Director of PT Pelindo III Doso Agung and other directors of the Surabaya Gresik JIIPE Industrial Area, as well as staff from Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Coordination Forum).

The acceleration of the formation of SEZs in Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE was carried out on the encouragement of increasing investor interest, even before KEK was officially formed. Bahlil as the Head of BKPM explained that currently there are many foreign investors, especially from countries in East Asia, who are ready to invest in Gresik, one of which is in Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE.
