In accordance with the rules contained in Government Regulation No. 41 of 2015 concerning Industrial Resource Development, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) requests all industrial estates in Indonesia, including East Java Industrial Zone, JIIPE to implement environmentally friendly aspects.
The Minister of Industry requires each industrial estate, one of them JIIPE East Java Industrial Estate, to utilize all available natural resources efficiently, environmentally friendly and sustainably. In this regard, JIIPE East Java Industrial Estate is one of the several industrial estates in Indonesia that has given special attention to the environmentally friendly aspects that are applied to the provision of supporting facilities and infrastructure.
The sewage treatment system in the East Java Industrial Estate, JIIPE, for example, has implemented high technology that can treat waste optimally without causing negative impacts on the surrounding environment. In fact, the Governor of East Java also relies on the ability of the East Java Industrial Zone JIIPE to manage waste.
In addition, the East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE also has an environmentally friendly dam that can prevent flooding for 100 years. This then proves that the East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE has sought to implement environmentally friendly aspects without ignoring the functional side.
East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE itself is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial area in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for cruise ships and housing with the concept of an environmentally friendly independent city, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as the field golf and shopping center.
